Strange love affair I have with wood and steel. Two materials destined together in my mind. I can.t work with one without the other, be it boards with nails, or planks with spikes.

I wanted my sculptures to capture the rawness of life. I mean, when it is stripped down and there is nothing left but the bare bones. Instead of ribcages there’s bike chain, instead of skulls there is pistons.

To create these works, I first went to the salvaged yard and rescued some dying mechanical parts and lumber. I then sandblasted and assembled them in such a way as to capture the illusion of a moving machine. It seams as though you should be able to flip a switch and watch them come to life.
